Saxophone Lessons

The sax is a musical instrument made of brass, which despite its metallic body, belongs to the instrument group of woodwinds, as the sound is generated by means of a reed.

The sound is created by tonguing, which causes the air flowing through to vibrate. Through his lip tension a saxophonist can choose the acoustic colour to be smooth, elegiac sounds and laughing or giggling jazz sounds. Generally, its sound is full with vibrato and sonorous. Low partials become strongly dominant, being accompanied by a warm melody.

During the classes at the [MA], you will be prepared specifically for playing in a rock, pop, funk, blues or jazz ensemble. Here, you become an important member of a band’s wind section, or you assume the role as a soloist.
